USEK’s Women’s Futsal Team with Silver Around their Necks

10 Dec. 2016 – In an international competition that took place in Abu Dhabi, the women futsal team of Usek missed the gold by a fine line.

In fact, the futsal team consisted of Perla Choueifaty, Sabine Rached, Rayane Rachid,  Eliana Hachem, Nancy Tchaylian, Nour Nasrallah, Melissa Daher, Nathalie Matar, Cybelle Ghoul, and Sana Chahine. Unfortunately, the team had neither a coach nor an assistant coach. As a matter of fact, Coach Farid Njeim couldn’t make it since he had to be with Tripoli men’s team. However, the team managed to do a great job even without a coach. Besides, Coach Farid Njeim was not the only one missing. Their key player, Joanne Beaumier, couldn’t be with the team because she doesn’t have the Lebanese nationality. Despite all these challenges that might have hindered their results, Usek’s futsal team managed to grab a win against UAE 6-4. Nevertheless, they faced Jordan in the final game but lost in the last 3 minutes 3-2. It is worth mentioning that Dima Farroukh, a noticeable Lebanese futsal player, filled in for Coach Farid Njeim and tried to help the team as much as possible.

Congrats to Usek for overcoming adversity and bringing home the silver.
