Tripoli Fayhaa Bring their A Game, Force a Third Game
21 Feb. 2017 – In what was portrayed as an early final for the Lebanese Futsal League, Tripoli Fayhaa overcome their opponents AYC and impose a third decisive game.
As Zaitoun, the star player of Tripoli, said before the game his team was able to balance the books as a helpless AYC struggled to keep up with a dominant Tripoli. The game first started with Tripoli securing a 2-0 lead. However, Coach Rizk’s men had other plans. A few minutes before the end of the first half, AYC scored a goal going into the break down by a single goal.
In the second half, Tripoli came in keeping their eyes on their ultimate goal: Win the game and force a third game. With the Colombian duo, the task was far from impossible. The Northern team managed to score 3 more goals while Achrafieh could barely net a single goal in the second half. The game ended 5-2.
The game saw Tripoli’s men miss chance after chance with their goalkeeper saving them on several occasions. Ghady Abi Akl also managed to save quite hard shots but couldn’t save his team from this loss.
Coach Farid Njeim dedicated this win to Kassem Kaswan who was suspended and promised the fans to poor blood, sweat and tears into the third game in order to earn their spot in the semi final.
Choueifat, Army along with Bank of Beirut have already secured their spot in the semis.
