Lebanese U16 Basketball National Team to face Spain in Dubai

The Lebanese under 16 national team, is going to participate in the Dubai international juniors tournament, between August 1 and 5.

6 countries are participating in this tournament, Spain, Egypt, Lebanon, Greece, UAE and Bahrein. The teams were divided into 2 groups, and Lebanon in the tough one, with the European champions Spain and Egypt.

Winning is not the target of the Lebanese team who has been formed not too long ago. The Lebanese players are going to there to get the required experience and start preparing for next year’s West Asian championship, while other teams are going to make their final preparations before the under 17 world cup start next month in UAE.

The team is going to be coached by Charbel Bach, and plays Egypt on Friday at 4:15 p.m and Spain on Saturday at 4:15 p.m also.

The tournament’s format is pretty clear. The winners of each group play against each other for the 1st and 2nd place, while the runners up of each group play for the 3rd and 4th place, and finally the 3rd and last team in each group will play each other for the 5th and 6th place, which means a total of 3 games for each national team.
