Lebanese Swimming delegation is back from Qatar with 6 new records

09 Dec. 2014- The Lebanese Swimming delegation is back from Qatar after its participation in the 2014 FINA Qatar. The delegation consists of the federation president Marcelle El Bourji, federation secretary Farid Abi Raad, coaches Francois Ghattas and Georges Yazbeck, athletes Anthony Souaiby and Gabriella Doueihy who participated in the training camp organized by the International swimming federation and finally the athletes Elie Boutros, Adam Allouch, Mahmoud Daaboul, Charly Salameh and Maroun Waked who represented Lebanon in the world championship.

The participating athletes broke 6 national records, their results came as following:

Adam Allouch participated in:

  • the 50 meters breaststroke race, he managed to set a new Lebanese record in this race after clocking 28.87 (0.3 seconds better than the last record), Allouch finished the race in 57th position out of 109.
  • the 100 meters breaststroke race, he finished his race 73rd out of 98 clocking 1:06.14 minutes.
  • the 50 meters butterfly, he finished his race 74th out of 141 clocking 25.4 seconds.
  • the 100 meters freestyle, he was ranked 103 out of 152 participant clocking 53.81 seconds.

 

Maroun Waked participated in:

  • the 50 meters backstroke race, he managed to finish the race in the 71st place out of 107 after clocking 27.11 seconds.
  •  the 100 meters backstroke race, he broke the national record by clocking 59.17 (0.32 seconds better than the last record). Maroun was ranked 70th out of 89 swimmers participating in this race.
  • the 200 meters backstroke where he broke another national record 2:10.09 minutes (1.67 seconds better than the last record).
  • the 100 meters freestyle, he was ranked 103 out of 152 participant clocking 53.81 seconds.

Mahamoud Daaboul participated in:

  • the 50 meters freestyle race clocking 24.38 seconds and securing the 97th place out of 174.
  •  the 100 meters freestyle race clocking 42.65 seconds and securing the 90th place out of 152.
  • In the 200 meters freestyle race, Mahmoud broke the national record clocking 1:56.27 minutes (1.70 seconds better than the last record).
  • the 50 meters butterfly, he finished his race 101st out of 141 clocking 26.82 seconds.

 

Charly Salameh participated in:

  • the 50 meters freestyle race clocking 24.6 seconds and securing the 104th place out of 174.
  • the 50 meters breaststroke race, he finished his race 71st out of 109 clocking 30.23 seconds.
  • the 100 meters breaststroke race, he finished his race 79th out of 98 clocking 1:07.68 minutes.

 

The 4 athletes also participated in relay races where they managed to broke to national records in the 4×50 meters freestyle clocking 1:37.42 seconds and 4×50 meters diverse clocking 1:47.55 minutes.
