Lebanese Futsal League – Round 17 Results

21 Dec. 2015 – In the 17th round of the Lebanese futsal league, Bank of Beirut has slipped to third place in the standings, following a 3-3 draw with the University of Saint Joseph. Indeed, BoB, who had previously lost first place after a draw with Mayadeen, has also lost second place to the army team now as the latter grabbed an easy yet important 8-0 win against Achrafieh.

Moreover, Al Mayadeen also had an easy game in that round with an 8-0 against Kalamoun at Emile Lahoud stadium. Goals were scored by Hassan Zeitoun (2), Karim Abou Zeid (2), Ramzi Abi Haidar, Kassem Kawsan, Boba Ratchivic and Mohamad Boussi.

Tripoli meanwhile could not overcome Choueifat as each team scored 3 goals in their highly exciting game. A win would have been much better for Choueifat who are looking to get away from relegation but Tripoli had a different opinion and refused to give up in that game despite trailing twice.

On the other hand, AUST slipped into fourth place with a 3-2 win against AUCE. This win in addition to Achrafieh’s loss has allowed for AUST to grab a place among the top 4 teams in the league so far. In the final week of the league, AUCE will have to defeat Tripoli while Kalamoun will have to lose against the army team in order for AUCE to avoid relegation.

Moreover, a postponed game between the Lebanese army futsal team and Bank of Beirut is going to be played on Tuesday, December 22. The game will most probably determine who will end up in second place at the end of the regular season!
