Lebanese Basketball National team to face Red Star & Partizan Belgrade
24 Aug. 2015 – The Lebanese Basketball National team continues his preparations in Serbia for the Asian Championship that is going to be held in China from 23 September to the 3rd of October 2015, under the supervision of the Serbian National coach Vacelin MATIC and his assistant Marwan KHALIL.
The National team is training a total of five hours a day divided into two sessions per day, and since their arrival to Serbia on 10 August, they played two games against Niberdak. In the first one, Lebanon won in 84 to 79 while in the second they lost 85 to 90 points after over time.
The team was supposed to play two matches against Mitalak in the past two days but the coach decided to give the player a time to rest. They still have three games in Serbia against the well known teams of Partizan and Red Star in the capital Belgrade. The third team will be named later on.
Our National team is heading next Thursday, 27 August, to Poland to participate in a friendly tournament with three other National teams: Poland, Belgium and Iceland. The Lebanese Delegation will then return to Beirut on the 1st of September.
Georges KILZI, the president of the Lebanese Delegation, said that “the players are very dedicated and committed to training”, adding that this training camp is “excellent” and that “the morale of the players is strong”.
We should note that Ali MAHMOUD will join the team on Monday 24, and that Lebanon will be playing in Group 4 with: Qatar, Taiwan and Kazakhstan at the Asian Championship.
