Lebanese Athletics: NDJ Annual Cross Country Championship

22 Jan. 2015 – Notre Dame de Jamhour (NDJ) organized their annual cross-country championship sponsored by Fransabank. 409 athletes from 17 different schools took part in this championship.

NDJ won 6 category team titles, while the Antonins and the Aamliya Tyr grabbed one 1st place toffee each. Individually, NDJ won 4 gold medals while Aamliya Tyr, Kadmous, Antonins and Evangelical Tyr won one gold medal each.

This is the first Cross Country of the season. We should mention that the athletics season always starts with cross-country competitions. This school championship is a preparation for the Lebanese Age Group Cross Country Championship.

We should note that some athletes from the Club Phoenicia Tyr, like Ghiya Mtayrek and Ahmad Chour, who are among the best runners in their category, belong to different schools. Also, we should note the absence of Champville youth runners like Sara Joe Kortbawi and Peter Khoury. The four athletes mentioned above will be great contenders for the Lebanese Cross Country Championship.
