He is part of the motor racing team “Double R Racing”, which is a team founded by the Finish world champion, Kimi Raikkonen, and his race manager Steve Robertson. So far, Massaad has completed 14 days of intensive testing and he still has 4 more days of official testing for the competition. The testing will take place in different circuits in Britain before the season kicks off. In addition to his testing behind the wheel, Karl is working on conditioning to improve his physical ability. He has lately lost 4 kgs.
Moreover, in his latest testing in one of the fastest arenas, Massaad created the surprise by finishing first. On his second day of testing, he recorded the fastest lap overcoming his teammate by only a tenth of a second.
When asked about his latest testing, Massaad said: “There is still a lot of work ahead of us, and I am still learning a lot about the car and the tracks with the engineers. On some tracks, I am very fast but on others, I am three-tenths slower and that is why we are testing. But we are definitely on the right track.” He added: “This is only testing and we can not conclude anything. This is why we stay focused on our work. Currently, our goal is to learn and improve.” Karl continued: “These past few weeks haven’t been easy. I had to adapt to a lot of new things and lose 4 kgs in a month due to my height.”
Karl Massaad still has testing that will go on till the end of March. The 2017 formula 4 season allows drivers collect points in order to get a first class license in April. The season includes 30 races divided into 10 round over the course of 5 months.
