Champville wins the Lebanese high schools basketball championship for the 2nd consecutive time

15 Feb 2015 – Champville high school basketball team won the Lebanese high school title after defeating Notre Dame Louaize 87 to 79. This is their second successive title.

The championship was named after the deceased Antoine CHARTIER and organised by sports evasion with the help of the coach Rizkallah ZALOUM.

The competition was held in Ghazir Sports Hall that was full of supporters fir the two teams. We should note the presence of the president of the Lebanese Basketball Federation Walid NASSAR, the president of the Champville Club Akram HALABI, the Olympic lecturer Jihad SALAME, the daughter of Antoine CHaRTIER’s sister Maya MOUbARAK, the general secretary of the Sagess Team Joseph ABDELMASSIH, the general secretary of the Champville club Khaled MOUjAES and the member of the Lebanese Basketball Federation Fady Tabet.

The best scorer of the game was Jad KHALIL from Champville with 31 points, 11 assists and 13 rebounds. Jad is also playing the 1st division Champville Team. Eve KARA (Champville) was nominated MVP of the championship and scored 19 points including six 3 points in the finals. Ghady ABOU JAWDE (Champville) scored 15 points collected 6 rebounds.

Mansour KHOUEIRY from NDL, also a 1st division player, scored 28 points, collected 7 rebounds and did 5 assists and 6 steals. Peter FRANCIS captain of NDL scored 19 points and collected 10 rebounds while his teammate Mohamad EL SAGHIR scored 18 points.

At the end, the president of the Federation Walid NASSAR and Maya MOUBARAk distributed the trophies and the medals to the winners.
