2014 Asian Taekwendo Championship: Leonardo Chaiban Shines
The Lebanese athlete Leonardo Chaiban impress at the 2014 Asian Taekwando Championship after passing the round of 16 of this championship.
Chaiban competing in the – 68 kg category, won his first 2 matches against opponents from Hong Kong and Mongolia. Leonardo was looking for an achievement for Lebanon after passing the round of 16. He was facing an athlete from Saudi Arabia, and won the first round of the match 3-1. In the second round, which he was dominating 4-1, both athletes were using illegal acts, hitting each other in the face, until the Saudi fakes an injury and refused to stand up, causing Leo to be disqualified.
On the other hand 2 other athletes were representing Lebanon in this championship:
Elias Hedary competing in the + 87 Kg category but unfortunately lost against Iran in his first game and Michel Samah competing in the – 74 Kg category forfeited because of an injury.
